You’ll recall we are telling the story of The Great Being, the Singular Self that is living through each of us avatars. We are watching how the story unfolds on the planet Earth through the experiences of two Agents of Cosmic Intelligence, Melchizedek and Layla, here on a mission that started in 200,000 BC. They are now in a new life around 40,000 BC.

The King looked at them as if to say, “What, back so soon?” Then his face turned more suspicious by the moment. Melchizedek and Layla, wearing Blu’s and Ska’s bodies respectively, held back from sharing telepathically with each other in the King’s presence, concerned that he could spot this automatically and this would wake him up to his true identity.

the great mountain
We can escape by climbing the great mountain. We will have the advantage of fighting downhill.

“Great King, we have a plan, and with the enemy so close, we wanted to tell it to you immediately,” Blu said. He bade them to enter his tent and sit, then disappeared outside for a moment. Blu and Ska then sensed the King’s guard drawing closer around the tent as the King stepped back inside. He sat, and went straight for the psychedelic root and chewed on it while he waved his hand as if to say, “Let’s hear it.”

Melchizedek had a flash that the King was perhaps subconsciously using the root to try to damp down his brain so as to reclaim his real identity. He did not stop to ponder this further as he needed to put across the plan.

“To stay here is certain death. We can escape by climbing the great mountain. From there we can watch their movements by the smoke of their fires. We can raid a small encampment and learn from the captives how they are trained to fight and make their weapons. We can study and duplicate their weapons ourselves. We will have the advantage of fighting downhill, which uses less effort than attacking uphill. When we choose to attack we can do it with the sun behind us to blind them.”

The King considered this. “Legends speak of horrible animals on the great mountain.”

“Something to eat, then,” Blu shot back, and the King and Ska laughed.

Within minutes the entire tribe was swarming toward the great mountain to the Southeast, bringing their weapons, food and children. The King led them. Blu and Ska were in his party along with his well-armed guards. Their recent boss and squad leader trailed somewhere behind in the multitudes. The ground at this point was steadily but gently climbing. As Melchizedek looked back he saw a huge cloud of dust trailing their small army. He knew that cloud could easily be seen by the enemy, wherever their main force was. They would not be able to rest if they were to make their escape. It was going to be a long hard climb, getting gradually closer to vertical.

Although they had not the time to prepare for the pitch to the King it had somehow come off perfectly, Melchizedek realized. Reading his mind, Ska pathed I’m so glad we didn’t have to give him the rest of the plan. Melchizedek agreed. They had already heard the King say things that made it certain he wasn’t going to react well to the rest of their plan.

All my best,
